Richard A. "Dick" Beals

LIMA: Richard A. "Dick" Beals, 86, went to be with the Lord at 8:10 AM Wednesday October 31, 2012.

He was born March 25, 1926 in Lima, Ohio to the Late Fred David and Faye (Bodkin) Beals. In 1944 he married Marian Waymack who preceded him in death. In 1977 he married Alice Althaus Beals who survives.

Dick retired as owner/operator of Beals Office Machines. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He enjoyed volunteering at Lima Memorial Health Systems and in the summer at Camp Roberts. Because of his love for the Lord he was very active at Cable Road Alliance Church, where he was an Elder, Church Treasurer, taught Sunday School, bible studies and with his wife Alice did Premarital counseling. Spending time with his family and step family was the highlight of his life and being the person he was, they could go to him for advice, knowing he would lead them in the right direction.

Surviving are four children, son, Larry (Kay) Beals, Brandon, SD; daughter, Linda Beals, Elida, OH; son, David (Anne) Beals, Bybee, TN; daughter, Cathy (Harry) Carter, Evans, GA; two step-children, step-son, Todd(Terri) Althaus, Bordeaux France; step-daughter, Anne (Greg) Kohls, Dayton, OH; 11 grandchilden; eight step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchilden; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Huysman.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday November 5, 2012 at Cable Road Alliance Church. Pastor Michael Boyes and Pastor David Latsha will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday November 4, 2012 at Shawnee Chapel of Chiles - Laman Funeral & Cremation Services and one hour prior to service at church.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Camp Roberts, c/o Lima Rescue Mission, 216 E. Wayne St., Lima, OH. 45801, Cable Road Alliance Church - Missions Fund, 2264 N. Cable Road, Lima, OH. 45807 or Charity Of Donor's Choice.
