Henry R. Schaffer TALLAHASSEE, FL: Henry R. Schaffer, 58, of Tallahassee, FL. Died 4:30 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born January 11, 1956, in Ross Co. to Elmer R. and Phyllis R. Sommers Schaffer. In addition to his parents, of Chillicothe, he is survived by sisters, Sharon (Jeff) Hartmus, of Chillicothe and Debbie (Ken) Vaughn, of Kingston; a brother, Roy (Donna) Schaffer, of South Bloomfield; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; and a long-time friend, Donald Fink, of Tallahassee. Henry formerly attended High Street CCCU and was a former employee of the Mead Corporation. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Floral Hills Cemetery with Rev. Obituaries from the Past Three Days

Stockbridge, John M.  
John M. Stockbridge CHILLICOTHE: John M. Stockbridge, age 93, died December 12, 2014. He was born August 10, 1921 in Baltimore, Maryland to Henry and Mabel (Patton) Stockbridge. At the age of four he was afflicted with polio and survived to lead a full life. He married Margaret Davis on September 7, 1946. He was captain of the wrestling team and graduated from Lehigh University in 1943. Before moving to Chillicothe, he worked as a sales engineer for General Electric and Rexnord. He and Martie opened their home to numerous international students through AFS, beginning with Jens Boe in 1964-65. Along with his son, Bill, he started Central Center Hardware Store, Chillicothe in 1977. He was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church and was twice named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Henry and Robert; and his wife, Martie. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Pam of Milwaukee, WI, James and Hyla of Denver, CO, William and Madeline of Chillicothe, OH and Richard and Judith of Mequon, WI; he is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be sent to Rotary's PolioPlus program ( endpolio.org ), Helen Keller International ( hki.org ), or Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Chillicothe. A family memorial service will be planned.

Smith, Edward Simon  
Edward Simon Smith CHILLICOTHE: Edward Simon Smith, 83, of, Chillicothe, Ohio died 3:10 p.m. Sunday, 7 December, 2014 in Waverly, Ohio. He was born 21 April, 1931 in Chillicothe, Ohio the son of the late John Russell Smith and Corintha (Estep) Smith. On 22 December, 1948 he was united in marriage to Betty Lou (Castle) Smith who preceded him in death on 10 July, 1992. Surviving are his loving companion, Helen George; three sons: Edward Jay Smith and wife, Dawn of Waverly, Ohio, Jeffrey A. Smith of Georgetown, Kentucky and Randall L. Smith and wife, Paula of Pace, Florida; daughter, Kathy Smith and Ben Rainsberger of Chillicothe; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Ed was attending the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam War, retiring as GMGC U.S. Navy and a retired Correction Officer and Locksmith for RCI and CCI, Chillicothe. His parents, wife, five brothers, Frank, Lundy, Chester, Virgil and Russell Smith and sisters, Emma Brown, Loretta Betts, Annecia Smith and two sets of twins preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, 11 December, 2014 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly with Pastor David Burris, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly.
