Smith, Verlin  
Verlin K. Smith PIKETON: Verlin K. Smith, 81, of Tennyson Road, Piketon, Ohio died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio. He was born June 18, 1934 in Elm Grove, Ohio son of the late Ora Everett and Lina Lola Shanks Smith. On June 26, 1954, Verlin was united in marriage to Lillian West Smith who preceded him in death on May 23, 2012. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Amy Lisa and Denny Thomas Salisbury of Waverly; a grandson, Seth Thomas Salisbury and Seth's fiancée Olivia Tunney of Frankfort, Ohio; a sister, Neisel Palmer of Groveport, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Harold Alexander and Sandy Justice. In addition to his parents and wife, Verlin was preceded in death by three brothers, Troy, H. Richard and Gary Smith. Verlin was a 1952 graduate of Piketon High School, a fifty year member of the Pike County Agriculture Society (Fair Board), a twenty-five year 4-H advisor and a fifty year member of the Orient Lodge 321 F & A M, Waverly. Verlin was a lifelong supporter of the Pike County Fair and 4-H programs. He was a member of the Pike County Democrat Party, and an avid hoe down square dancer. He was former attendance officer and transportation supervisor for the Pike County School System. Verlin retired with thirty years of service with the Piketon Post Office as a rural mail carrier. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Tim Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery in Piketon. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. A masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday by Orient Lodge 321 F & A M. Scott A. Uhrig CHILLICOTHE: Scott A. Uhrig, 58, of Chillicothe, died 2 p.m. May 17, 2016, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born May 6, 1958, in Ross County to E. Neil and Joy Shoults Uhrig. Surviving are his father, E. Neil Uhrig; children, Michelle (Chad) Diehl and Doug (Jamie) Uhrig; grandchildren, Maddie Diehl and Porter and Emory Uhrig; a sister, Teri Jo (Rick) Gallaugher; a nephew, Evan (Rebekah) Gallaugher; a niece, Leslie (Chris) Younge and a great niece, Anna Jo Gallaugher. He was predeceased by his mother, Joy Uhrig. Scott retired from the Mead in 2004 and was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731. Webster, Robert  
Robert Webster BAINBRIDGE: Robert "Bob" Webster, 65, of Bainbridge, died 10:34 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born January 17, 1951, in Portsmouth, to Hugh and Emma Jean Jackson Webster. On September 20, 1997, he married the former Beverly J. Richards who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Amy (Mike) Ratliff of Piketon and Misty (Mark) Gray, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Dustin, Cody and Dalton Ratliff, Brian Smith, Madison, Jacob, and Tori Brown and Breanna Moss; great grandson, Samuel Ratliff; brothers, Joe Webster of Florida, Jeff Rebman of Chillicothe; a sister, Jeanine Webster of Florida, Margie (Richard) Wentworth of Florida, Roberta (David) Morris, of Kentucky, Angie Stone of Florida, Sherry (Bill) Miller of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Hugh; mother and stepfather, Emma Jean and Clarence "Dutch" Rebman; a daughter, Brittney Webster and a brother, Bruce Rebman. Robert retired from Chillicothe Electric Supply and was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Robert B. Wilde CHILLICOTHE: Robert B. Wilde, 61, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Harry and Ann Hooker Wilde. Robert was a longtime resident of Shirley Wooten's Care Home in Hallsville, Ohio where he had many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, in St. Peter Church with Fr. William P. Hahn Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no public calling hours. Wiseman, Donald  
Donald Ray Wiseman WAVERLY: Donald Ray Wiseman, 85- of Salisbury Rd. Waverly, Ohio died Monday May 23, 2016 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born May 21, 1931 in Pike County, Ohio to the late Benton and Louise McDaniel Wiseman. He was united in marriage on June 27, 1953 to Barbara Ann Allemang Wiseman who preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. Surviving are three daughters: Cathy Cornish and husband Brian of Waverly, Karen Scott and husband Glenn of Claremont, FL, and Kimberly Grow and husband Ronald of Beaver, Ohio. Grandchildren: Patrick "Stephanie", Sarah and Tyler Cornish, and great grandchildren: Kodi, Colton, and Emmalyn Cornish, grandchildren: Mary Ann "Billy" Blackwell and great grandchildren: Jamie and Jordan Blackwell, and grandchild Glenn Ray Scott and great grandchild, Brantley Glenn Scott, and grandchildren; Ashley and Kristen Grow. Two brothers: Bill Wiseman of Waverly and Dale Wiseman of Claremont, FL, and one sister, Helen Deiber of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Paul Wiseman. He was retired from the State of Ohio Corrections Dept. where he served as the Food Service Administrator, a member of Waverly New Covenant Church of Christ in Christian Union, Waverly and Piketon Police Auxiliary, a member of Orient Lodge #321 F. & A.M., Pike County Shrine, I.O.O.F., American Legion-Merritt Post #142 of Waverly, and was a U.S. Marine Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wiseman was an avid Bowler, loved camping and fishing, and enjoyed spending time working to repair watches and clocks for many people in the area. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday May 27, 2016 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Neil Pafford and Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Friday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be 7:00 P.M. Susan D Wiseman CHILLICOTHE: Susan D. Wiseman, 72, of Chillicothe, died 10:46 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at the residence of her daughter following an extended illness. She was born November 22, 1943, in Ross County to the late Omer and Norma Dray Burns. On October 23, 1972, she married Willis Wiseman. Surviving are children, Karen (David) Blitchington, Columbus, OH, James N. (Madonna) Reeves and Stephen F. Reeves, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Shane Lindsey, Jeremy Lindsey, and Kelly Jo Phipps; four great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Burns, of Chillicothe; two sisters, Janet Trego and Carol (Jim) Hill, both of Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband. Susan was retired from the Chillicothe VAMC where she had worked as a nurse's aide and also worked at Railway Express. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Danny Minton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
