CHILLICOTHE: Daniel E. Barber, 69, of Chillicothe went to be with his Lord, 10:50 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born November 14, 1943, in Wurtland, Kentucky, to the late Willard and Zella Fannin Barber. On February 10, 2006, he married the former Thelma J. Williamson who survives; also surviving are children, Debra (Paul) Hager-Kitzmiller, Kim Ferrell and fiance, John Hoffman, Vickie Carver, all of Chillicothe and Nicole (Mark) Bennington, of Lucasville; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, P. Vernon (Frances) Barber, of Ashland, KY and Rex (Debbie) Fannin, of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including special friends, Jerry Kutschbach, Melvin Woods, Junior Sams and Dan Betkey; and his fish fry buddies.

He was predeceased by a brother, Lewis E. Barber.

Daniel served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Mead Corporation. Daniel was a member of the Jefferson Avenue CCCU, U.P.I.U. Local 731 and American Legion Post 62.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the Jefferson Avenue CCCU with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the church from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
