John M. Ward

SUNIZONA, AZ: John M. Ward, of Sunizona died at home on May 3, 2013 at the age of 70.

He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on March 29, 1943 to Benjamin Ward and Emma Denight Ward. John served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, moved to Arizona in 1971 from Ohio. He was a member of the VFW # 9977 in Sunsites, Past Quarter Master for the VFW, Past President of the Printers Union of Arizona and retired from the Ash Creek School as a Computer Technician. John was an avid pool player.

On July 27, 1968 in Chillicothe, Ohio he married Sharon Pauley who survives him; also surviving are his son, John of Tucson and daughter Jacquelyn (Garrett) Gracy of Avondale, Arizona; and grandchildren, Heather Gracy and Becca Gracy; his brother, Robert William Ward and sisters, Helen Malone and Sally Dray all of Chillicothe, Ohio also survive him.

Preceding him in death was his parents, and two brothers, Gene and Garry Ward.

Military graveside rites will be held 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Arizona. A Memorial Service will follow at the VFW #9977 in Sunsites beginning at 4:00 P.M.
