CHILLICOTHE: Lonnie Douglas Lunsford, 56, of Chillicothe, died 9:20 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his residence following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born February 2, 1956, in Adelphi, Ohio, to the late Orville D. and Regina Bowman Lunsford. On June 9, 1993, he married the former Angela K. Lanthorn who survives.

Also surviving are children, J.R. (Roberta) Cook, of Minnesota, Scott (Jessica) Lunsford, Melissa York, both of Washington C.H., Johnathon Lovejoy, of Columbus, Lewis Lunsford and his fiancee, Jessica Hardesty, of Chillicothe and Nicholas Lunsford, at home; grandchildren, Kaylee and Austin York and Ryan Porter; sisters, Janet Page, of Chillicothe, Sharon (Burl) Bowling, of Circleville, Arvella (Daryl) Ault, of Frankfort and Nancy (Jim) VanHoose, of Urbana; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends, including, Thurman Green and Jimmy Britton. He was predeceased by brothers, Steve and Dean Lunsford and a sister, Barbara Eldridge.

Lonnie was the owner and operator of Helping Hands Heating and Cooling. He was an avid fisherman having fished waters from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico at New Orleans.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Roy Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Charleston Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday or from 10 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service on Tuesday.
