Nancy J. Riggin
CHILLICOTHE: Nancy J. Riggin, 80, of Chillicothe, passed away very peacefully 1:15 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Westmoreland Place.
She was born March 18, 1932, the second of two children, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to John Sleet and Alma Mae Riddle McAllister. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Bud" Riggin, Jr., whom she was married to for 41 years.
She was blessed with three children, Steve (Libby) Riggin, Dan (Peggy) Riggin, and Joy (Tim) Davis, all of Chillicothe; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Henry S. (Patricia) Barlow; and sister-in-law, Joyce Prendergast, of Ft. Myers, FL.
Nancy was a very kind, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family dearly. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team and a proud classmate of Chillicothe High School's Class of 1950, where she fondly recalled being a drum majorette in the marching band and dancing the jitterbug at school dances.
Nancy was a past employee of New Method Finance of Wear Ever Aluminum Corp., The Mead Corp., and Mutual Loan and Savings. She obtained her Real Estate license through Franklin University.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brent Ralston officiating. Friends may call at Wares from 11 a.m. to time of service on Monday. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
