Phyllis M. (Hinton) Queen
CHILLICOTHE: Phyllis M. (Hinton) Queen, 86, of Chillicothe, Ohio, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at home after an extended illness.
Born July 10, 1926, in Pickaway County, Ohio, the daughter of Roy Hinton, Sr. and Ruth (Switzer) Hinton, she married Rexford D. Queen on Jan. 28, 1942.
Phyllis was involved in the family business, Queen Builders, for many years and sold real estate until her retirement in 1985. She had been a volunteer at the VA Hospital Golf Course for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Rexford and sister Helen Davis; children, Monte (Denise) Queen, Diane (Don) Wilbanks, Beverly (Dan Speakman) Queen and Randall (Barbara) Queen; grandchildren, Chad (Katrina) Queen, Amanda (Brad) Gambill, Phillip, Susan and Amy Queen, Ryan (Kristen) Michael, Chris Michael, and Billie Jo Queen; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by brothers, Roy "Jake" Hinton, Jr. and Robert Hinton.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at WARE FUNERAL HOME, 121 West 2nd Street, Chillicothe, Ohio. A graveside service, with Pastor Carol Davis officiating, will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, 643 ½ Eastern Ave., Chillicothe, Ohio, on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
