Andrew "Andy" Martin

CHILLICOTHE: Andy's favorite song was "O, What a Savior" and he passed into His arms at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 in Westmoreland Place.
He was born June 29, 1923, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Jerry and Louise Sutterfield Martin. On June 11, 1950, he married the former C. Jane Anthony who survives; also surviving are a daughter, Ann Martin Naumoff, of Akron, Ohio. Papa will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Capt. Casey Andrew Naumoff, United States Air Force, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Tyler Alexander Naumoff, Akron, Kathryn Jane (Nickolas) Pedro, Anda Alexis Naumoff and friend, Kurt Young, of Columbus, OH. In addition, surviving are a sister, Virginia Vanderhorst; and several nieces and a nephew.
He was predeceased by a brother, Louie; a sister, Hazel Schachtele; and a grandson, Clay Anthony Naumoff.
Andy served in the U.S. Navy as navigator/musician on the USS Pittsburg during World War II. On March 1, 1986, he retired from the Mead Corporation where he had worked for 44 years. Andy was a member of Scioto Lodge #6 F&AM, the Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, U.P.I.U. Local 731, Mead Retirees and the Senior Citizens Bowling League. Andy loved sharing his violin music at First United Methodist Church where he attended.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service to be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Greg Elliott officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
