Colon "Pete" Grubb

ASHLAND, KY: Colon "Pete" Grubb, 90, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday evening, October 30, 2013 at the Community Hospice Care Center.

He was born March 17, 1923, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a son of the late Levi and Hazel Lowery Grubb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian Burdette Grubb in 1987; two sons, Keith Arlen Grubb in 2009 and Kenneth Grubb in 1955; a grandchild, Aileen Grubb; great grandchild, Braiden Warren; and 11 siblings.

Pete retired after many years of service from Creasey Company as a receiving clerk. He was a member of the American Legion Kenova Post 93 and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Teresa (the late Marion) Barrett of Ashland, Paula (Gene) Compton of Louisville, KY, Glenda (Charles) Reffitt and Sandra (Raymond) Warren of Ashland; daughter in law, Brenda Grubb of Olive Hill, KY; a special sister in law, Frances Hilt of Ashland; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with the Reverend Philip Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Kenova Post 93.

Friends may call from 6-8p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 and from 10am until service time Saturday, at the funeral home.
