CHILLICOTHE: Helen M. Michael of Chillicothe, was taken to heaven in the arms of her Lord and Savior, at 6:08 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the age of 89.

She was born on October 4, 1923, in Washington C.H., Ohio to the late Elmer and Hattie Kellough Shoemaker. Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, James E. Michael, the love of her life; also surviving are children, James Adkins and daughter-in-law, Edith, of Chillicothe, Carolyn Coyer and husband Bob, of Clarksburg, Susan Michael, of Lancaster, Judy Leatherwood, of Circleville and Ken Michael and wife Peggy, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tina Caplinger, of Chillicothe, Steve Adkins and wife, Ruth, of Chillicothe, Amy Leist, of Columbus, Chris Cornell, of Frankfort, Dean McGarvey, of Chillicothe, Ryan Coyer, of Chillicothe, Scott Michael, of Lancaster, Cheryl Moore, of Lancaster, Adam Leatherwood, of Circleville, A.J. Michael and wife, Heather, of Chillicothe and Bobby Michael and fiancee Karri, of Chillicothe; great grandchildren, Stephanie Caplinger, of Chillicothe, Sierra Leist, of Amsterdam, Wendi Benson, of Washington, Hannah Moore, of Lancaster and Hunter Michael, of Chillicothe; great great grandchildren, Victoria and Felix and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a stepson, Jim Michael; a great grandchild, Jerad; brothers, Richard, Herman and Delmer; and sisters, Mid Uhrig and Annie Uhrig.

Helen was a wonderful wife and mother and a great cook. She was a long time member of Beulah Chapel Church, teaching Sunday School classes for many years. Her church family was very important to her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Delbert Allison officiating. Burial will follow Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday.
