Janet L. Cox

CHILLICOTHE: Janet L. Cox, 71, of Chillicothe, went home to be with her beloved Savior at 3:16 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born November 14, 1941, in Dearborn County, Indiana, to the late John Robert and Evangeline E. Louden Peters.

On February 11, 1961, she married Carl Alan Cox who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Douglas Alan (Jill Allison) Cox, of Gallipolis, OH and Deric Alan (Mary Ellen Arnold) Cox, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Josiah, Benjamin and Abigail Cox, of Gallipolis and Carolane, Andrew, Mica and Eli Cox, of Chillicothe; a brother, J. Robert (Patty) Peters, of Waverly; sister, Carol Eberts, of Hamden, OH; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Joy Cox, Richard and Vicki Cox, Ron and Carol Cox, Randy and Pam Cox, all of Chillicothe, Darrell and Diana Cox, of Beavercreek and Diane and Stan Harrington, of Waverly; and many special friends.

She was predeceased by sisters, Virginia Thompson, Judy Meyer; and brothers-in-law, Roger E. Eberts and George Thompson.

Janet was a member of Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church where she had served as Youth Leader for 25 years and had also served as treasurer for several years. She was secretary for the former Sciotoland Youth for Christ and was formerly a Cub Scout Leader.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church with Rev. Rick Hartley and Chaplain Charles Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Ware's from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Tabor Church Youth Group 6043 Mt. Tabor Road Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
