Noah Eugene Fellenstein
WILLIAMSPORT: Noah Eugene "Gene" Fellenstein, 86, of Williamsport, died at 1:48am, Wednesday July 30, 2014, at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus following an extended illness.
He was born February 14, 1928 to the late Noah Charles and Alice Mae (Mowery) Fellenstein. On January 28, 1956, he married Suzanne Marie (Haller) Fellenstein, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Michael (Karen) Fellenstein, of Grove City, Chris Ann (Dan) Riddle, of Chillicothe, and Larry D. (Debra Ann) Fellenstein, of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Ella) Weaver, and Brad (Julie) Weaver, both of Chillicothe; 3 great-grandchildren, Lily, Preston, and Piper Weaver; a step-grandson, Roger (Yelena) Heide, of Saudi Arabia; 3 step great-grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, and Sofiya Heide; one step great-great-grandson, David Heide; four sisters, Lida Meadows, and Kay (Larry) Large, both of Kingston, Garnett Taylor, of Chillicothe, and Anna Lee Swackhammer, of Williamsport; one brother-in-law, David (Karen) Haller, of Marysville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, John Howard and Agnes F. (Cardiff) Haller; a great-granddaughter, Harper Ray Weaver; and four brothers-in-law, Dean (Mary) Haller, William Meadows, Roy Taylor, and Leroy Swackhammer.
On October 11, 1950, Gene enlisted to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from South Central Power Co. where he worked as an electric lineman and a supervisor. He was a member of the Springbank United Methodist Church, and loved woodworking.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 3, at the Haller Funeral Home, with Pastor Angie Noel, and Pastor Richard Kemper officiating. Military graveside honors, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 4-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital or Springbank United Methodist Church, c/o Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
