Robert P. "Bob" Maxwell

CHILLICOTHE: Robert P. "Bob" Maxwell, 64, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly on September 2, 2013, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born March 1, 1949, in Ross County to the late Charles R. and Patricia A. (Hupp) Maxwell. On July 27, 1974, he married the former Joy L. von Clausburg, who survives; also surviving are his daughters: Megan Michelle Maxwell, of Circleville, and her significant other, Bruce Pierce and his children, Misty and Kacey Pierce; daughter, Morgan Melissa Maxwell, Chillicothe; his sister, and brother-in-law, Peggy A. (Jim) Hays, Bainbridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chip (Cheri) Maxwell, and James (Toni) Maxwell, all of Kingston; his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Leo and Louise von Clausburg, Pickerington; his niece and nephew, Chelsea and Kirk Maxwell; a step-niece, Samantha Ball; several aunts and uncles; numerous friends; and his special canine buddy, "Guinness."

Bob was a graduate of Zane Trace High School, Class of 1967, where he earned the honor of All Ross County High Scorer in basketball. He received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University and two Master's Degrees from Ohio Dominican and Xavier. He retired from the Chillicothe City Schools, where he primarily taught at Mt. Logan as well as coached and refereed. Bob was highly regarded by his students and players. He was a 4th generation co-owner of the Maxwell Family Farm, "Sunshine Hill" and owned Select Oak Antiques, where he enjoyed working as an antique salesman. Bob was an avid OSU fan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 7, at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
