CHILLICOTHE: Ronald E. Pierce, 57, of Chillicothe, died 5:34 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1955, in Knockemstiff, Ohio, to the late Evelyn I. Dennewitz Pierce.
Surviving are sisters, Donna (Bill) Mark, Lachona (Charlie) McKee and Tanya (John) Dennewitz; brothers, Rudy (Laura) Pierce, Rex (Sharon) Pierce, Bruce Pierce and his companion, Megan Maxwell and Troy Pierce and his companion; Monica Adams and her son, Jacob. Ronnie felt very fortunate and proud to have 14 nieces and nephews; and 14 great nieces and great nephews.
He always stated "father to none, uncle to many". They include, Billie Jo (Dennis) Lytle and their children, Seth Schumaker and Pierce and Roni Lynn Lytle, Trisha (Mike) Philbrook; and their daughters, Hannah, Rachel and Sarah Philbrook, Nikki (Kenny) Downs; and their sons, Jacob, Joshua and Joseph Downs; Alison (Jeff) Smith and their children, Luke and Addison Smith, Adam McKee and his companion, David Hess, Logan and Ethan Dennewitz, Julie Pierce and her children; Parker Powell and Olivia Hardiman, Joe Pierce and his daughter, Madalyn Pierce, Alison and Nicole Pierce, Misty and Kacey Pierce and T.J. Pierce.
Ron's Passion and calling for many years was traveling with the Work and Witness Team on missionary trips all over the world helping to build much needed churches etc. He made many friends that he called family; Dr. Paul, Jean, Harold, Beth, Dave and Glenn Barker. Ron also had many close church friends from the Westside Church of the Nazarene and the First Church of the Nazarene.
He was predeceased by his mother; an infant brother, Dickie Eugene Pierce; and his grandparents, Dewey and Roxie Dennewitz.
He will be forever missed by close family and friends. Ronald was a 1974 graduate of Huntington High School and retired from Kroger in 2010.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
