CHILLICOTHE: James W. Joseph, Jr., 71 of Chillicothe, died 4:58 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born May 12, 1942, in Fayette County, to the late James W. Sr. and Zella B. Bowles Joseph.
On August 15, 1987, he married Janice E. Topping, who died February 25, 2005. On September 3, 2005, he married the former Kathy Baxter, who survives; also surviving are children, Vickie (Fred) Plume, of Frankfort, Mary Joseph, of Clarksburg and Linda (Jack) Byrd, of Martinsville; stepchildren, Stacy (Jerry) Price, Heather (Jeremy) Tackett, both of Chillicothe and Jason Adams, of Pleasantville; grandchildren, Jeff (Heather) Plume, Willie (Sommer) Haddox, Samantha (Victor) Poynor, Danica (Brandon) Hughes, Derek (Lacey) Lemaster, Dusty Gibson and companion, Evyn Gray, Dylan Tyler, Cadence and Braxton Price, Isabelle, Ethan and Jade Tackett, M'Lani, Adaline and Ryker Adams; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Lee Furniss, of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Karen Joseph, of Washington C.H.
He was predeceased by a brother, Gary L. Joseph; and a granddaughter, Ashlynn Stevenson.
James was a member of Richmond Dale Church of God for 25 years. He retired from CSX Railroad where he worked as a car inspector and welder in Chillicothe and Raceland, KY. He was a member of the N.R.A. and Transportation Communications International Union for 35 years.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 In the Richmond Dale Church of God with Pastors John Evans and Jamie Hitchcock officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
