Robert D. "Bob" Crace

CHILLICOTHE: Robert D. "Bob" Crace, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Sunday evening, March 23, 2014 in Heartland of Chillicothe following a brief illness.

He was born September 19, 1933 in Pike County, the son of Oren S. and Ruth (Hines) Crace. On December 6, 1952 he married Bessie M. Amlin who preceded him in death on March 3, 2005.

Surviving are his daughter, Becky (Charlie) Seymour; his son, Robert D. (Rhonda) Crace, Jr., all of Chillicothe; his granddaughters, Amie (Jason) Cottrill and Angela Dawn Crace; a sister, Shirley Ann Estep, Lebanon, Ohio; a brother, James L. (Mary) Crace, Augusta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. His parents and sisters, Mary Darlene Bell and Sharon Kay Cuckler preceded him in death.

Mr. Crace was a retired electrician. He was the co-owner of C & M Racing Equipment and was a race car builder and driver for 54 years. Known as "Rapid Robert", he was the original "Fireball" and was a member of the Atomic Speedway Hall of Fame.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Leonard Roop officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
