PIKETON: Hazel Elizabeth Wilson,104, of Piketon, Ohio formerly of Waverly, Ohio went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
She was born July 16, 1909 in Kinnikinnick, Ohio, daughter of the late George Boden and Sudie Chew Boden. On May 5, 1951 Hazel was united in marriage to Alexander A. Wilson who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Sallie Jayne and husband Henry of Piketon; her only grandson who held a very special place in her heart, Joey Jayne and wife Melanie of Germantown, Ohio; stepson, Alexander A. Wilson, Jr of Columbus, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and husband; four brothers, Charles, Ernest, Jim and Phillip Boden; and four sisters, Ruth Jackson, Minnie Chester Scott, Stella Reis and Martha DeLong Grant preceded Hazel in death.
Hazel was a graduate of Centralia High School, a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly where she enjoyed worshiping with her church family and enjoyed the many activities at the Senior Citizens Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, with Pastor Val Francis and Ernie Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Seniors.
