PIKETON: Pastor Steven Eugene Ray, 64, of Long Fork Road, Piketon, Ohio went home with his Lord and Savior, 8:37 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the S.O.M.C. Hospice Center, Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born December 7, 1949 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of Dorthea Alma Victoria (Smith) Huffman and husband Bernard of Waverly, Ohio. On May 17, 1969 Steven was united in marriage to his loving wife, Ruby Janette (Radabaugh) Ray who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Steven Eugene Ray II; daughter, Amanda Gayle Bolen and husband Ronnie, Jr. all of Piketon, Ohio; four grandchildren: Cameron Ray, Steven Barlow, Cassidi Ray and Ronnie Bolen III; three sisters: Linda Recobs of Waverly, Ohio, Crystal Parsons and Cynthia Bixler and husband Robert all of Chillicothe, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His father, William Allen Ray; brother, William A. "Tim" Ray; grandparents, Randall and Julyna Smith preceded Steven in death.
Steven was the Pastor of Bailey Chapel Church for 30 years, member of DAV and served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME, Waverly, Ohio with Kevin Greene, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio with Military Graveside Services being conducted by the American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly, Ohio. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4 - 8 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
