He was born October 11, 1940 in Chillicothe, the eldest son to Mary Valentine Lynch, and John W. Lynch, Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lynch; and sister, Carol Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Maria Villani Lynch whom he married on October 1, 1988; and two sons, John III, and George; and daughter, Jewel from a prior marriage; his surviving siblings are his siste, Donna Austin, his brothers, Charles (Patricia) Lynch, and Larry Lynch; he was the grandfather of 12; and great grandfather of five.
He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1959 then enlisted in the U. S. Army. He served honorably for 22 years until he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1981 and returned to Chillicothe. Shortly after returning to Chillicothe, he started working for the state as a correctional officer where he served as the union president. After 22 years, he retired from the state in 2003.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars, Janus54 club, and cruised and travelled the world extensively. He met his wife Diana on one of his many trips to Las Vegas, and enjoyed 22 years of blissful matrimony. He attended Quinn Chapel AME, 181 W. Main St, Chillicothe.
Friends and loved ones can pay their respects at the viewing at Quinn chapel on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00, followed by the funeral service, and internment at Greenlawn cemetery.
