CHILLICOTHE: Kathryn Margaret Brown McDonald, age 93, was born December 30, 1919 to Edgar O. and Millie E. Brown. On June 27, 1953 she was married to Elden Dean McDonald, who survives.

"Kate" passed into eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2:52 pm.

In addition to her husband of sixty years she is survived by son, Douglas V. Hill; daughter, Miriam L. (Martin H.) Baker; grandchildren, Cathy Ann (Mike) D'Abreau, Neil Hill, Kelly (Jason) Stauffer, Darcy (Austin) Bonds, Joel (Lacie) Baker, Stephanie (Benjamin) Litter; 11 great grandchildren; a brother Bernard C. (Bette) Brown of Albuquerque, NM.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Gaynell Pritchard, Ethel Kohn and Bonita Harper.

Kathryn was a 1939 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She worked at the powder plant making shells during WWII and later Mead Paper Mill until she met and married Elden. She lived a life of service to her Lord, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as the many children of her neighborhood and church. She taught Sunday School for 30 years at High St. Church of Christ in Christian Union where she was a member and member of ECL. She was known and loved for her homemade pies and rolls. Kathryn loved to go on picnics to Hocking Hills which continues to be one of many traditions established for her family.

Her family grieves her loss while at the same time rejoicing that she is with her Lord now forever among that "great cloud of witnesses".

Friends may call at Haller Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm Friday. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Bruce Viar at High St. Church of Christ in Christian Union at 3 pm Saturday.
