Jane Johnson Obituary
Jane Alice Johnson

Jane Alice Johnson, a mother to four children, a friend to many, and a Missouri girl at heart, passed away peacefully April 17, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88.

Alice was born the daughter of Gordon B. Schapaugh and Laura M. Bradford on April 16, 1931 in Jamesport, Missouri. Jane was a country girl from the beginning. She dearly loved her family farm, and the "home place" in Chillicothe, Missouri, which was heaven on earth. She was the happiest toting a fishing pole in one arm or wielding an air rifle for a little bit of mischief shooting squirrels. She hauled one squirrel home and named him Billy. She said she couldn't resist giving her mom a chance for one more pet. (Surprise, Surprise!)

Educated at Will Rogers High School, and Tulsa University, she was a member of the Phi Mu National Sorority of Oklahoma, and voted "Miss Congeniality" by her sisterhood. For more than 35 years, from her home in Tulsa, she owned and operated MD & S Products, which was named for her children Michael (M), twins Deana and Debbie; her youngest Donna (D), and her dad "Sha" (S). An active single parent, she logged countless miles in carpools or airplanes for her three daughter's gymnastic events and on-the-road trips to celebrate her son in school at MMA, in Mexico, Missouri. She will be remembered for her unconditional love to come at the drop-of-a-hat to help her grandbaby, and then tell a small fib when one of the four babies having already "taken their first step." She taught us patience and an unfailing work ethic. She trusted God for all of her life, and treasured her time with the devotional book, "My Utmost for His Highest," by Oswald Chambers.

In her later years, when a stroke robbed her of both, her mental stamina, and her physical strength, it also gave her the nickname "mighty feisty," by her generous caregivers at Autumn Hill Therapy and Living Center, Berryville, Arkansas. Her love will be cherished and multiplied in the lives of her children; Michael Johnson of Berryville, Arkansas, Deborah Kaitschuck and Deana Parish of Woodlands, Texas, and Donna Culp of Sevilla, Spain; four grandchildren, Brandon Kaitschuck, Kalie Kaitschuck, Ainsley Parish, and Flint Culp. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wishes to thank Scott Lindley at Lindley Funeral Home for his thoughtful service. Extended family is invited to celebrate Jane's life.
