May 27, 1932 - February 23, 2013
Doris was welcomed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family at McKenney Creek Hospice on February 23, 2013. She was born May 27, 1932 in Erickson, Manitoba. She moved to BC with her beloved husband Bill (predeceased in 2001), where they raised their five daughters: Laureen (Carlyle), Iris (Ned), Janice (Tom), Melanie (Craig) and CarolAnn (Blair). A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family takes comfort in knowing that there is a joyous reunion taking place in heaven, with her many family members and friends who have gone on before her.
Her family is so thankful for the numerous doctors and health care professionals who made it possible for Doris to enjoy an active last year, building long lasting memories with her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Maple Ridge Alliance Church, 20399 Dewdney Trunk Road, on Thursday, February 28 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice.

To the family of Doris: Peter and I were at the service for your Mom and Grandmother on Thursday. We got to know, love, and appreciate Doris over the last few years. As was mentioned her smile was always bright and warm.
You'll have many good memories, as will we and the many others who knew her.
