Rufus Boswell Obituary

Mr. Rufus Allie "Al" Boswell, 87 of Bonifay, died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. Born Sunday, July 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Wilson Boswell and the late Ocia Boswell. Mr. Boswell was a member of Gully Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy he was also a member and past president of the Bonifay Kiwanis Club. Mr. Boswell was a retired Manager of our local telephone company, served as city clerk for the City of Bonifay, and served as administrator of the Doctors Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Boswell; sons, Bobby Boswell of Bonifay, Perry Boswell of Bonifay and James Earl Boswell of Bonifay; daughter, Donna Wilson and husband Ray of Bonifay; sisters, Ann Paul of Bonifay and Dura Williams of Bonifay; three grandchildren, Travis Boswell, Chad Boswell and Trey Howell; six great grandchildren.
A Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at Gully Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Hadley, the Rev. Jeep Sullivan, and the Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Interment followed in Bonifay Cemetery, Bonifay, with Sims Funeral Home directing. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Gully Springs Baptist Church Bonifay.
