Anderson, Brenda (Strickland) - Ebro  
Brenda Strickland Anderson, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Ebro, and was an active member of Spring Valley Holiness Church. She was born in Walton County, March 21, 1951 to the late Daniel and Betty Sue Strickland. She graduated From Vernon High School Class of 1969. Brenda was a doer, always willing to go the extra mile for other people. She enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with family, gardening, and fishing. Especially cat fishing with her sister Gaile and her cousin Barbara Jean (Bob) who was like another sister. Brenda will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends and community. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jerry Lee Anderson, her father in law, Alva Anderson and mother in law, Lois Anderson. She leaves behind a daughter, Carmen and husband Wade Moon, two grandchildren, Avery and Gracie Moon who she loved very much, and four siblings, sister Glenda Hunt and spouse Jerome, brother Glen Strickland and spouse Terri Ann, sister Gaile Page and spouse Lamar, brother Dorty Strickland and spouse Stacie. She is also survived by her Anderson brothers and sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of life was held at Spring Valley Holiness Church with visitation held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 at 5 p.m. Funeral was conducted on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. Her final resting place is at the Ebro Cemetery. Service was be officiated by Brother Billy Hendrix, Brother Ed Mike and Brother Horace McCormick. Her final message would be, "Get ready so we can be together again in Heaven". Andreasen, Liselotte "Lotte" - Greenwood  
Liselotte (Lotte) Andreasen, 88, of Greenwood died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 in Panama City. Andreasen was born in 1927 in Munich, Germany. In 1951 she married Thomas G. Andreasen, Sr. and immigrated to the United States arriving on the Queen Mary through Ellis Island becoming a naturalized US citizen shortly thereafter. Lotte enjoyed being a homemaker, a devoted wife and mother. She was a gifted seamstress of all types of clothing, but, especially enjoyed making wedding gowns. She retired at age 76 after working at PenBrow Fashions Boutique for 23 years. Mrs. Andreasen enjoyed making afghans and pound cakes to give as gifts, she also enjoyed caring for her violets and orchids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Andreasen, Sr. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Andreasen and wife Mimi of Tucson, Arizona; three sons, Robert Andreasen, Thomas Andreasen, Jr. and wife, Vanessa all of Greenwood and Joseph Andreasen and life partner Judy of Naples; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Roland Rabon officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family received friends at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church one hour prior to service. Arnold, Tyler Boyd - Sneads  
Tyler Boyd Arnold, 19, of Sneads died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Tyler was born in Tallahassee, May 28, 1996 and has lived in Sneads all his life. He was a 2015 graduate of Sneads High School and a student at Washington-Holmes Vocational School in Chipley. Tyler was an avid hunter and loved farming with his uncle Brayton and his Paw-Paw. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Papa Gerald. Tyler attended Sneads Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his parents, Tim and Leann Arnold; his sister, Brittany Leigh Arnold; Paternal grandparents, Jake and Mary Lou Arnold all of Sneads; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Peggy Morrell of Chattahoochee. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 at 10 a.m. (CDT) at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Pastor Juno Douglas and the Rev. Kelvin Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Dykes Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home of Sneads directing. Visitation was Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. (CDT) at Sneads Assembly of God Church. Avery, Patricia A. - Marianna  
Patricia A. Avery, 68, of Marianna died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at her home. Pat Avery was a long-time resident of Marianna and had resided in Cypress for the past 20 years. She Retired from Sprint in Marianna after 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Smith; her father, Johnnie Smith and significant other, Johnny Conrad. Survivors include her son, Keith Avery and wife, Danielle of Marianna; daughter, Leigh Ann Spooner and husband, Jimmy Spooner of Marianna; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Tanner, Deacon, Lexie, Drayden, Kamden and Addyson. Memorial services was at 7 p.m., Friday Aug. 21, 2015 at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel with the Rev. James Swafford officiating. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directed. The family received friends from 6:30 p.m. until time of service. Bass, Jerry Wayne - Graceville  
Jerry Wayne Bass, age 65, passed away Wednesday Aug. 5, 2015 at his home. He was born in Graceville, on Sept. 10, 1949 to Buddy Bass and Myrlee (Grantham).Jerry worked as a brick mason and was of the Baptist faith. He was a life-long resident of Jackson County. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and one son Justin Bass. He is survived by his two sons Tyler Reed Bass of Wausau and Christopher Ryan Bass of Graceville; three daughters Sherry Lynn Bass of Graceville, Jacqulyn Charlene Bass of Graceville, and Angela Renee Bass and husband Bryant of Chipley, two sisters, Artelma Wright of Rehobeth, Alabama and Carolyn Drummond of Cottondale, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Brooks officiating. Interment follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Brackin, Barbara M. (May) - Marianna  
Barbara M. Brackin, 89, of Marianna died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. A native of Dothan Alabama, Brackin resided in Dothan until 1966 when she moved to Havana, Florida. In 1971 she moved to Marianna. She was a member of Marianna First United Methodist Church. She was employed in Dothan at the Houston County Health Department, in Tallahassee at the Department of Natural Resources and in Marianna at the Jackson County Health Department. She and husband, Grady, enjoyed traveling. They even spent several years as campground hosts at Vogel State park in North Georgia. She loved going to the mountains and in 2000 she and Grady eventually built a cabin near Blairsville. She really enjoyed shopping at Alexander's Store, but her greatest joy was her family. She attended the high school graduation of every grandchild and made frequent visits to both children and grandchildren whenever the opportunity existed. She had a flair for life greater than most. She was always planning for the next big family get-together, figuring out sleeping arrangements, meals, and when we could sing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Cauza May, and two brothers, Ben Jr, and Wayman all of Dothan. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Grady Brackin; three sons and a daughter - Ray Barber (Patti) and Randy Barber (Darlene) of Tifton Georgia, Earl Brackin (Lisa) of Calhoun Georgia, and Jody Burke (Bo) of Marianna, 12 grandchildren – Ben Burke (Kara) of Baltimore Maryland, Annah Kate Goodnight (Peter) of Charleston South Carolina, Daniel Burke of Birmingham Alabama, Mandy White (Ben) of Cincinnati Ohio, Leah Melchers (Ted) of Charleston, South Carolina, Austin Barber (Cara) of Little Rock Arkansas, Jonathan Barber (Brittney) of Chattanooga Tennessee, Natalie Keadle (Walker) of Athens Georgia, Sarah Barber, Lawson Barber and Maria Barber all of Roswell Georgia, and Bea Brackin of Calhoun Georgia; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Marianna with the Revs. Bill Elwell and Doug Newton officiating. Interment followed in the Dothan City Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family received friends one hour prior to services at the church in the sanctuary. Serving as Pallbearers will be Daniel Burke, Austin Barber, Jonathan Barber, Peter Goodnight, Walker Keadle, and Ted Melchers. Brannon, Lillian (French) - Bonifay  
Lillian French Brannon, age 102, of Bonifay, passed away Aug. 26, 2015 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Oct. 27, 1912 in Bonifay, to the late Samuel Jackson French and Lonie Retherford French. In addition to her parents, Brannon was preceded in death by her husband, Malcom Bernice Brannon; one brother, Theron French, Sr. and five sisters, Estelle Hall, Marie Clark, Clara Webb, Etta Bush, Xuripha Hand, Dora Johnson, Clora Miller. Lillian Brannon is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at Northside Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ed Bell, Rev. Chuck Glass and the Rev. Jesse Hobbs officiating. Interment followed in the Steverson Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Peel Funeral Home.

Brooks, Herbert Edwin - Bonifay  
Herbert Edwin Brooks, MD, age 85, of Bonifay, went to be with his heavenly father Aug. 19, 2015 at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. He was born Dec. 3, 1929 in Washington, D.C. to the late Donald and Doris Coldrey Brooks. Brooks served seven years in the United States Navy and was a flight surgeon. He worked as a Board Certified Family Physician for 50 years. Brooks opened his practice in Bonifay in the summer of 1965 and continued to serve his patients until March 2015. Brooks was a past president of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and Bonifay Kiwanis Club, also served Doctors Memorial Hospital as Chief of Staff and Holmes County Health Department Medical Director, both over 10 years. Brooks held many other memberships and positions in various medical associations in Florida, along with local civic, educational, church and community boards. Brooks was a long time member of First Baptist Church Bonifay. Brooks enjoyed playing golf, traveling, hiking tall mountains and spending time with family. Brooks loved telling his jokes and stories as well as quoting Shakespeare and the Bible challenging others with his wit and humor. His "baby blue eyes and million dollar smile" have warmed and comforted many a patient's heart and the hearts of his family members. Brooks is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kendall Brooks and Robert Brooks. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Cynthia Nall Brooks of Bonifay; three sons, Donald Fredrick Brooks, MD and wife Denise of St. Joseph, MI, Geoffrey Wayne Brooks PhD and wife Lori of Bonifay, Robert Edwin Brooks PhD and wife Ann of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two daughters, Catherine Jean Brooks French and husband John of Placerville, California, Erin Elizabeth Brooks Lauen and husband David J. Lauen, Jr. of Marietta, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Benjamin Brooks, Joshua Brooks and wife Kaylee, Stephen Brooks and wife Kimberlee, A. Paul Brooks, Rebekah Brooks, Phillips Brooks, Rachael Brooks, Michael Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Isaac Brooks, Tucker Lauen, Arena Lauen, Sadie Lauen; three great-grandchildren, Edward Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Elijah Brooks; two nieces and one nephew; mother-in-law, Lois D. Nall of DeFuniak Springs; brother-in-law, Warren Nall and wife Mary of Ridgecrest, California Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church Bonifay with Dr. Shelly Chandler officiating. Interment with military honors followed in the Bonifay Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Brown, Robert Earl - Bonifay  
Robert Earl Brown, 83 of Bonifay, died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. Born Monday, May 16, 1932 in Caryville. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Brown and Beady Brownell Brown and his daughter Robbie Yost. Surviving is his wife, Ada Hicks Brown, sons, Gary Brown of Bonifay, Bobby Brown of DeFuniak Springs, Ted Johnston of Geneva, Alabama and Fred Johnston of Greenwood, daughters, Brenda Helms of Bonifay and Cynthia Martinez of Dothan, Alabama. A Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church located at 311 N. Waukesha Street Bonifay, 32425 with the Dr. Shelly Chandler and the Rev. Stacy Stafford officiating. Interment was in Otter Creek Cemetery, Ponce de Leon, with Sims Funeral Home directing. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel .

Mattie Lee Bush, age 100, of Chipley, passed from this life Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at her home. Mattie was born Dec. 7, 1914 to the late Henry and Naomi (Snell) Hodges in Chipley. She is a lifelong resident of the Chipley area and was a member of Grace Assembly Church of Chipley. Mattie is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Bush and one daughter, Shirley Jean Freeman. Survivors include, two sons, Ronald Bush and wife Reba Nell of Graceville , Donald Bush and wife Billie of Birmingham, Alabama, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating. Family received friends for visitation one hour prior to service.
