Paulk, Mary Elizabeth - Bonifay  
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Paulk, 90 of Bonifay, Florida died on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at her Residence in Bonifay, Florida. Born Saturday, January 10, 1925 in Holmes County, Florida to Thomas Drew Miller and Mae Pilcher Miller. She is survived by her husband Andrew (AJ) Paulk. Also surviving are sons, Gerry Paulk and wife Pam, of Atlanta, Georgia and Dennis Paulk and wife Lou ,of Kansas City, MO, daughters, Cheryl Croft of Atlanta, GA and Elizabeth Sims and husband James, of Marianna, FL, brother, J. L. Miller of Bonifay, Florida, sisters, Charlene Royals of Kansas City , Missouri and Myra J. Middlebrooks of Bonifay, Florida; 10 grand children; 11 great grand children. A Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with the James H. Sims officiating. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Bonifay, Florida with Sims Funeral Home directing. Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Paulk, Tracey Wright, Wayne Miller, Larry Miller, Danny Royals, Joey Middlebrooks and Bobby Middlebrooks. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Sean Lewis, Hank McIntyre, Ernie Johns, Lane Miller and Eugene Keith. The family received friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel

Peterson Jr., Young - Vernon  
Mr. Young Peterson, Jr., 58, of Vernon, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13, 2015 in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital of Chipley, Florida surrounded by his family. He was a native of Washington County and a graduate of Vernon High School. He was employed with Whitfield Timber Company. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife: Emma Peterson of Vernon, Florida; beloved mother: Rosa Lee Peterson of Vernon, Florida; three sons: Darnus Peterson of Panama City Beach, Florida, and twins, Brad and Brandon Peterson, both of Vernon, Florida; step-daughter: Candace Johnson (Matthew McKinnie, Jr. ) of Cottondale, Florida; four sisters: Grace Clark of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Min. Ruth Davis (James) , Pamela Francis (Richard) and Sandra Brown (Reginald); one brother: James Peterson (Jonnie Mae), all of Vernon, Florida; three grandchildren: Khanah Johnson, Kamron McKinnie, and Za'King Peterson: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Home Going Services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 from the sanctuary of New Bethel A.M.E. Church of Vernon, Florida with pastor, the Rev. Charles Flowers, Elder Theodore Powell, Min. Wade Brown and Pastor Priscilla Brown, officiating. Committal Services will follow in the St. Luke Memorial Gardens of Vernon, Florida. Mr. Young was in state at the church from 2 p.m., Saturday until time for services at 3 p.m. The Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida, directing.

Petty, Dorris O. - Westville  
Dorris O. Petty of Westville, Florida and formerly of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Signature Heath Care in Graceville, Florida. She was 85. Mrs. Petty was born in Samson on June 12, 1929 to the late Oscar and Ollie Weeks Owens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Angus Petty; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Petty Allen of Westville, Florida; one granddaughter, Laura Richter of Westville, Florida; one grandson, Rodney Allen of Port St. Joe, Florida; two great grandchildren, Paige and Natalie Allen of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; one brother, Fred Owens; two sisters, Ouida Pitts and Ollie Koch; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Leonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Rod Jones officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
