Mrs. Wendy Powell, age 43, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was born Dec. 7, 1972 in Clanton, Alabama to Thomas and Janice Brasher Roper. Mrs. Powell was a resident of Walton County. She was Pentecostal by faith. She worked as a Nurse for many years, having received her Nursing Degree from Northwest Florida State College. She enjoyed crafts and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Powell is survived by her parents Thomas Roper and Janice Roper of Mossy Head; her husband Buddy Powell of DeFuniak Springs; two sons Dalton Blount of DeFuniak Springs and Bryer Blount of Freeport; one daughter Kelsey Burge of Mossy Head; three step-daughters Brittney Lynn Powell, Morgan Elizabeth Powell and Destiny Powell all of DeFuniak Springs; two brothers Thomas Roper, Jr. and wife Samantha and Robbie Roper all of Mossy Head; three sisters Tina Ann King and husband Gary of Clanton, Alabama, Bobbie Faye Huckaba and husband Earl of Laurel Hill and Evelyn Alt and Arthur Truett of Glendale; and five grandchildren Rylie Blount, Hunter Broxton, Raelynn Blount, Bryson Broxton and Elianna Burgess. Visitation services were held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jason Campbell officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
