Yolanda Smith, 95 of Lorida, left her loving family and went to be with the Heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at the Palms of Sebring. Yola was born in Palm City, Martin County, in 1920 , second sibling of Edward and Ida(Papp) Kubay. She and her husband(of 53 years), "Red",(who passed in 2009) established the business called Engine & Accessory in Miami and ran that business together until August, 1973. At that time they moved to Lorida, and continued their business until 2009. She became a charter member of the Lions Club, member of the Women of the Moose, and important participate in the Volunteer Fire Dept. Yola will always be in our hearts and memories for she was a lady of love and regard for her family, friends and community. Preceded in death by: Edward Kubay, Father, Ida Papp Kubay Mother, James Milner "Red" Smith, Husband, Lola Leshin Ashburn, Sister, Margaret "Geech" Tyler Weiler, Sister, Edward Kubay, Brother, Yola is survived by her sister Dot Carroll of Bonifay, nieces Sharon Herring (Charley) Bonifay Susie Schrimsher (Jack) of Opp, Alabama., Terry Fleming (Jean) Brooklyn, Connecticut, Sharon Hawes(Richard) Brooklyn, Connecticut, Jackie Kubay, Jackson, Georgia., Nephews: Butch Kubay (Andrea) Miami Springs, Ira Leshin (Karen) Palm City, Robert Leshin, Step-son Robert Smith(Linda) of Miami, second cousin Neil Hang Mukilteo, Washington. seven Great Nieces, six great nephews, four great-great nieces, nine great –great nephews, one great-great-great niece, two step-grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, Longtime friends, Dick and Jeanette Earhart of Lorida, Frankie and Lise Castronozo of Miami and Judy Crawford of Lorida. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 in Sebring.

David Richard Smith, 67, passed away at home in Pensacola, on June 12, 2015, after a lengthy illness. Born in Dothan, Alabama on Dec. 28, 1947, he grew up in Bonifay. In high school, Richard was on the football and track teams, and as a senior in 1966 their football team won class B State Champs. He also was a member of a band called "The Sir Richard Five" in which he was the lead singer. After graduating from high school, he joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam as a machine gunner in the 2nd battalion, 1st Marine division until April of 1969, and in 1972 received an honorable discharge. Due to complications incurred from his active duty service, Richard became a Disabled Veteran. He was always proud of his service as a Marine, and he helped many other veterans. Besides his Vietnam service medals, he also received the Good Conduct Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Richard attended Jr. College in Panama City, and then attended and graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in Marketing. He worked in building material sales until 1987, when he, with his family, moved back to Holmes County where he owned and operated a small ranch for approx. 15 yrs. During that time he re-dedicated his life to the Lord, and was baptized on June 16, 1996. In 2002, they moved back to Pensacola, and he lived as a retiree, fishing on his boat and enjoying life. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Robin P Smith; his three daughters, Robin J, Holly, and Jessica Spaw (Lucas); two grandchildren, Dagen and Vivienne; brothers, Tommy (Eileen) , Jessie (Wilidene), Carthel (Martha Jo); sisters, Norma Jean (Mike), Rosie (Joel), Charlie (Chip) and numerous nieces and nephews, and long time friends in Bonifay as well as Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his father, David Levi, mother, Gladys, brother, Carl, and niece, Nina Gailey. A memorial service was held August 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Church, Bonifay Fl, 1675 Robbins Bridge Rd.
