Mrs. Eunice Rushing, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was born May 27, 1920 in DeFuniak Springs to Allen and Anna Lou Farrior Sutton. Mrs. Rushing was a resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Knox Hill Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. She was known by her family as an angel on earth. She shared her love through the endless prayers and her gift of crocheted blankets for her family and friends.
Mrs. Rushing is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Anna Lou Farrior Sutton; her loving husband of 23 years, Matthew Joe Rushing; four brothers, Bobby, Josh, Frank and Bruce Sutton; two daughters, Lois Rushing Jenkins and Polly Rushing McGarigle; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Rushing is survived by her loving children, Nita and Terry Lane of Crestview, Cheryl and Richard Bailey of Ponce De Leon, Jimmie Lou and Carlos Griggs of Ponce De Leon, Evelyn and Fulton Rushing of Ponce De Leon, Roy Rushing of Ponce De Leon, Joe and Barbara Rushing of Argyle, and Bill McGarigle of DeFuniak Springs; three sisters, Nannette Tapan of DeFuniak Springs, Yvonne Sinclair of DeFuniak Springs, and Eloise McLean of Horseshoe Beach; one brother, Leslie Sutton of Stuart; three sisters-in-law, Norma Sutton, Abbie Jones and Alma Richardson; 27 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 48 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and her bird April.
A time of visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with the Rev. Rodney Infinger and the Rev. Mike McVay officiating. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are Roy Rushing, Jajuan Griggs, Dillon Groce, Don Hoffmann, Rodney Bailey and Brandon Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Lane, Lenny Kendall, Mack Bailey and Chuck Jones. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery.
