Gerald Wayne (Macgyver) Henderson(1950 - 2014)

Gerald Wayne Henderson, 64, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his residence of a sudden illness. Wayne was born in Graceville on Jan. 19, 1950 to the late Louie D. and Thelma Louise Birge Henderson. A certified turbine welder, he worked as a mechanic before his retirement and was nicknamed "Macgyver".
Predeceased by his parents; grandson, Elijah Henderson; brother, Rex Henderson and sister, Nelma Watford. Survived by five children, Donna Henderson Davis, Ronald Henderson, Cottondale, Wesley Henderson(Nicole), Todd Neighoff(Jennifer), Graceville and Heath Neighoff, USAF, Nevada; three brothers, Kenny Henderson, Jessie Ralph Henderson and Robert Henderson; sister-in-law, Uneta Henderson, Graceville; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces; nephews and cousins.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Faircloth officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family received friends at the funeral home Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy can be made at James & Lipford Funeral Home.
