Mr. Gerald Williams Wilkerson, age 74, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was born Sept. 12, 1938 in Liberty, to Morton and Edith McDaniel Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs. He worked as a School Teacher having taught Wood Shop for over 35 years before retiring. He was a devoted School Teacher, taking great pride in his student's education. He was also over the Vica Club. He was appointed by the Governor to serve as a Walton County Commissioner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was very active in supporting all of the Walton County Sporting Events.

Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ron Wilkerson.
Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his loving wife, Mary Wilkerson of DeFuniak Springs; three step-daughters, Sheila Williams of DeFuniak Springs, Tonya Vanzile and husband Rick of Milton, and Angie Salmon and husband Bruce of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Roland Wilkerson and wife Rita and Kenneth Wilkerson all of Liberty; two sisters, Janice Yoder of California and JoAnn Wilkerson of LaGrange, Ga.; five step granddaughters; three step great granddaughters; one step great grandson, and other extended family members.
A time of visitation was held from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Cluster Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Joel Glenn officiating. Active pallbearers will be Brad Drake, Jason Nowling, Shelby Truett, Danny Willcox, Jerry Slay and James McDaniel. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
