Mr. Cecil Jones, age 79, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013. He was born May 25, 1933 in Geneva County, Ala., to Sidney and Addie Smith Jones. Mr. Jones was a resident of Seminole. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era serving his country in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant with over 22 years of service before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed being a grandfather.
Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents, and one great grandson, Zane Newman.
Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nelva Dean Barker Jones of Seminole; one son, Zachery Ray Jones and wife Juanita of Holmes County; two daughters, Belinda Jones Smith and husband Dave of Freeport, and Nikki Jones Vaughan and husband Scott of DeFuniak Springs; one brother, Ray Jones and wife Margie of Holmes County; five grandchildren, Michael Newman, Sam Newman, Josh Jones and wife Kellie, Kodi Sniezko and Jarrett Sniezko and five great grandchildren, Ryder Newman, Jacob Newman, Zoë Newman, Quinton Jones and Madison Jones.
A time of visitation was held from 66 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Michael Newman, Sam Newman, Josh Jones, Kodi Sniezko, Quinton Jones and Ryder Newman. Honorary pallbearer will be Jarrett Sniezko. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial followed in the Limestone Cemetery, with Military Honors.
