Mr. Darrell Manford Norell, Sr., of DeFuniak Springs, formally of Geneva, Ill., passed away on March 1, 2013 at Covent Hospice, West Florida Hospital in Pensacola. Darrell was born April 26, 1938 in Geneva, Ill., to Manford and Clara Norell. Darrell served in the Air Force from 1955-1975. He proudly served his country with four tours in Vietnam. Darrell and Raye were married on May 15, 1993 in Minneola. They moved to DeFuniak Springs on 2004. Darrell was active in the VFW Post 4437 in DeFuniak Springs.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Raye Norell; his son, Darrell M. Norell, Jr., and wife Mickey; two step-children, Kelley Portier and husband Rodolphe of Los Angeles, Calif., and Casey Lund of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Don Norell and wife Rose of Apache Junction, Ariz.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 5 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435 with Joshua Simmons officiating.
