Mr. Donald Young Dowling, age 68, of Bonifay, passed away March 14, 2013 at his home. He was born Dec. 24, 1944 in Hartford, Ala., to the late Otis and Gerona Donnell Dowling. Mr. Dowling served four years in the United States Marine Corps and served one tour in Vietnam from 1964-1968. He retired in April of 1997 after working 32 years as a Wildlife Specialist with the Florida Game and Fish Commission.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dowling was preceded in death by his sister, Mellorae Dowling and sister-in-law, Shelia Dowling.
Mr. Dowling is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Manuel Dowling of Bonifay; two children, Donald Wayne Dowling and wife Rhianna of Marianna, and Brandi Dowling Jordan and husband Scotty of Bonifay; four grandchildren, Don Young, Tucker, Eli and Jamie; two brothers, Gerald Dowling and wife Helen of Cottondale, and Jimmy Dowling of Orlando and numerous relatives.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ike Steverson and the Rev. Phillip Barnes officiating.
