Mr. Guy Johnson, age 88, a resident of Bonifay, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Johnson was born on March 22, 1924 the son of the late Jim and Nettie Pate Johnson. He graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1942. He worked for Supreme Ice Cream for 15 1/2 years and taught air condition/refrigeration at Washington Holmes Vocational Center, Chipley. He retired after teaching many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry Johnson; his sister, Elva Armstrong and his two brothers Fred J. and Arch Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Vermol Johnson, Bonifay; grandson, Mark Johnson (Tammy), Dothan, Ala.; granddaughter, Terri Spitler (Mick), Dothan, Ala.; one sister, Frances Ellis, Bonifay; one brother-in-law, W. T. Retherford, Bonifay; five great grandchildren; one niece and several nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Live Oak Assembly of God, Highway 177A, Bonifay, FL 32425-7276. Bro. Kenneth Martin and Bro. Danny Carnley officiated with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1955 Hwy 177A, Bonifay, FL 32425. The family received friends Monday from 1 to 2 p.m., at Live Oak Assembly of God. Flowers were accepted or memorial contributions to Live Oak Assembly of God or Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Avenue #E, Marianna, FL 32446. Mr. Johnson's pallbearers were, Don Robinson, Millard Retherford, Albert Johnson, Wayne Retherford, Joe Armstrong, Guy Retherford and Frank Armstrong.
