Mr. James Thomas Bell, age 83, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away Jan. 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Washington County Florida to the late Robert Edward Bell and Willie Mae Davidson Bell. Mr. Bell served in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bell was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Bell and two sisters, Kathleen Martin and Margaret Miller.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Joanne Simmons Bell of DeFuniak Springs; four children, Kathy Brown and husband Roger of Molino, Jacqueline Lee of Cantonment, Donna Bell of Atlanta, Ga., and Thomas Bell and wife Norma of Robertsdale, Ala.; five grandchildren, Adam Lee, Abby Lee, Scott Lee, Amanda Brown, and Robert Brown; one great-grandchild, Peyton Lee, and two sisters, Louise Smith of Pensacola, and Carolyn Coatney of Ponce de Leon.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Peel Funeral Home Chapel Bonifay with the Rev. R.W. White and the Rev. Ben Barton officiating. Interment followed with military honors in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. Family received friends 1 hour prior to service at Peel Funeral Home in Bonifay.
