Mrs. Janell Williams Godfrey, age 81, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. She was born May 7, 1931 in Ebro, to Frank Williams and Ethel Rushing. Mrs. Godfrey attended Walton High School and later attended Business College in Jacksonville. She was retired from Civil Service and volunteered at a hospital as a pink lady for years. She had a vibrant, cheerful personality. She was very friendly and a people person. met a stranger. She was also a fashionable lady. She helped friends and neighbors and loved to socialize with them.

Mrs. Godfrey is preceded in death by her father, Frank Williams; stepfather Willadee Lassister; mother, Ethel Williams Lassister; husband, Hurbert Godfrey; daughter in law, Eid Godfrey, and one son, Charles Godfrey.
Mrs. Godfrey is survived by her two sons, Douglas Godfrey and wife Kathey of Liberty, and Rodger Godfrey and wife Jai of Wichita, Kan.; two granddaughters, Anna Godfrey, and Dusti Alford; three grandsons, Ashley, Alex, and Kyle all of DeFuniak Springs; special friends, Agnes Vaughn Gomillion, Shirley Pratt, Ouida Miller, Norma McDonald, Jim and Paulette Poss; church families, and friends from Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian churches in Red Bay.
Family will be receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Red Bay Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held a 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Red Bay Methodist Church with the Rev. Rodney Infinger, the Rev. Henry Martin and the Rev. Durl Odom officiating.
