Janice Corbitt, 88 of Lynn Haven, passed away, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in her home after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1924 in Poplar Springs Community (Graceville). A graduate of Poplar Springs High School 1941, Janice was a member of Northside Baptist Church where she taught first grade Sunday School and sang in the choir for over 40 years. She retired from the Navy base after 47 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, McRay Corbitt; son, Tony Corbitt; grandson, Robert Driskell, Jr.; parents Corine and John Joiner; sister Hassie Stewart and brothers, John A. Joiner and Joe Holman.
She is survived by her two children, McRay Corbitt, Jr. (Brenda) and Deborah Driskell (Bobby), all of Panama City; grandchildren, Robert Driskell (Linda), Tupelo, Miss., Kelli Lowe (Mike), and Casey Corbitt Bush, Panama City; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Corbitt Driskell, Tupelo, Miss., EJ Lowe, Panama City; sisters, Willie Hall, Panama City, Sue Nix (Al), Grant, Ala.; brother, Jim Joiner (Betty), Graceville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Joiner, Pensacola, Lillian Corbitt, Panama City, Virginia Pearce, Shalimar, and Margie Butler, Dothan, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special niece Patty Duffell who has been her constant caregiver.
Graveside service was held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Graceville with her nephew Larry Williams officiating, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
