Mary Louise (Duncan) Alday, age 77, of Grand Ridge, passed away June 17, 2014 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cottondale. She was born on Dec. 9, 1936 in Chipley, to Bill and Bernie Lou (Lee) Duncan, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bill Alday. She worked many years in area nursing homes and was a 1955 graduate of Chipley High School.
She is survived by her children, Melissa Ann (Alday) Johnson (Mike), and Pete Alday of Grand Ridge; brothers, Gus Duncan (Faye) and Joe Duncan (Glenda) of Cottondale; sisters, Betty Clark (Dwight) of Quincy, Katherine Simmons of Montgomery, Ala., and Margaret White (Winford) of Bonifay and one grandson, Joshua Johnson of Grand Ridge.
A visitation was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 2491 Hwy. 71 in Marianna, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Sanders officiating.
