Mr. Carlie "Red" Junior Helms of Flowing Well Road, Bonifay, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. He was 75. Mr. Helms was born on July 22, 1937 in Holmes County, to the late Carlie G. and Vermer Ree Merritt Helms. After several years of service he retired from Coca-Cola.

In addition to his parents, three brothers, Clarance Frank Helms, Robert Wayne Helms and Jerry Helms all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra Gail Cheatom Helms of Bonifay; three daughters, Laura "Cricket" L. Tolley (Dean) of Hampton, Tenn., Mildred "Mickey" E. Raines (Gerald) of Bonifay and Clara "Candy" L. Green (Patrick) of Crawfordville; two brothers, Donald G. Helms and Billie Helms (Chris); two sisters, Juanita Anderson (Harold) and Ouida Ree McIntyre (Hank); eight grandchildren, Jeremy R. Raines, Jennifer R. Bamman, Shelley E. Raines, Jeffery E. Raines, Michael C. Raines, Aleasha G. Green, Joedee A. Green and Patrick J. Green Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at Smith Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. John Pettis officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family received friends at the church beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. Mr. Helms will remain in the church until service time on Tuesday. Stevie, Dusty, Terri, Danny, Patrick and Donnie will serve as pallbearers.
