Mrs. Edna "Nell" Sexton, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. She was born Feb. 3, 1934 in New Harmony, to Clifton and Stady Thorn Raybourn. Mrs. Sexton was a lifelong resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress for many years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed growing her flowers and especially spending time with her family. She was also an avid shopper.
Mrs. Sexton is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence J. Sexton.
Mrs. Sexton is survived by her three daughters, Diane Crowder and husband Charlie of DeFuniak Springs, Susan Nelson of DeFuniak Springs and Kathy Creech and husband Ricky of Samson, Ala.; one brother, Jimmy Raybourn of Pensacola; four grandchildren, Steven Crowder, Amy Morse and husband Charlie, Hedi Foushee and husband Todd and Chad Nelson and wife Patty; eight great grandchildren, Mara, Tyler, Tristan, Cassidy, Hannah, Coda, Dawson and Kason, and Wayne Sexton and Vicki Cole.
A time of visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2103 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Liberty 6765 US Highway 331 North, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433, with the Rev. Joel Glenn officiating.
