Dr. A.N. Oscar O'Steen, age 73 of Chipley passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 in Fort Walton Beach. He was born Oct. 13, 1940 in Jacksonville, to the late Alva Woodrow and Elsie (Timmons) O'Steen. Oscar attended the University of Florida, Medical College of Virginia, Dental College and University of Alabama, Dental School in Birmingham where he earned his Oral Surgery training. He practiced from 1969-1996 for a total of 27 years before retiring in Destin and moving back home to Chipley.

Survivors include his former wife and mother of his children, Judy Ann O'Steen; one son, Shannon O'Steen and wife Shirley of Meridian, MISS.; one daughter, Moree Lynn Collard and husband Thomas of Deltona; one brother, Leslie M. O'Steen and wife Maggie of Fort Walton Beach; six grandchildren, Kersten, Emilee, T.J., Ashley, Courtney and Brooke and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be sent to the Care and Share Food Pantry, P.O. Box 132 Chipley, FL. 32428 or Washington County Take Stock in Children, 2150 Sunny Hills Boulevard, Chipley, FL. 32428. There will be another memorial service at a later date in Destin.
