Francis Letwyn Obituary

Mr. Francis Maurice Letwyn, age 82 years of Grandview Lodge, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, October 11, 2002. He was born on October 3, 1920 in Fort William to Daniel and Mary Ellen (Mulligan) Letwyn. Francis worked in mechanical maintenance in various mines in Ontario and retired from Manitouwadge Mining as a mechanical engineer after 20 years of service. He was also a veteran of the Canadian Army, serving in World War II and enjoyed traveling, exercising and sightseeing. Surviving him are his sister in law Gertrude Letwyn Bangert of Paris, Texas, nieces Sheila Letwyn Daughtrey of Paris, Texas and Margaret Ellen Hakes Wethington of Spring, Texas as well as other nieces and nephews, his sons Daniel and Stanley of Winnipeg, Manitoba and his granddaughters. Francis was predeceased by his parents, brother Gerald Letwyn and son Frederick. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital Fund would be greatly appreciated.
