Evelyn Daisy Fedoroniak

It is with great sorrow we announce Evelyn Daisy Fedoroniak's passing on Thursday July 1st following surgery in Southern Ontario, her daughter by her side. Evelyn was born in Concert, Alberta, grew up in Holdfast Saskatchewan, and as a young teen moved to Fort William with her family where she lived out her life. She was an avid sportswoman, having played baseball, ice hockey etc. She also curled and enjoyed the highlight of playing an eight-ender, the perfect game. She played in many Heart-to-Heart bonspiels with Al Hackner and team as well. In later years Evelyn turned to the gym to stay fit and served on the advisory board for the Canada Games Complex. She wrote a number of articles on fitness and lived by a st rick philosophy of mind and body, believing in a proactive approach to ones health care. She was a avid bridge player, having achieved her Masters several times over. Evelyn even entered into the local Modeling scene for a time. Employed by the Royal Bank for 27 years, she worked as a Head Teller and Chief Loans Officer. Upon retirement she served as a volunteer for a number of charities. She never seemed to give into life's challenges or aging. Always a lady, Evelyn could be recognized for her collection of hats and headbands to match any outfit. Her vivacious spirit touched and inspired many. Evelyn was predeceased by her Father Ray Barnes, Mother Edith Simeon Barnes, Brother Lorenzo Barnes. Husband William Fedoroniak. . She is survived by her Daughter Mitzi Ray Ander (Matt), grandson Jasper William (8) of Nelson, B.C. And relatives in Thunder Bay, Saskatchewan and the U.S. Internment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in a private family ceremony followed by a Celebration of Life.
