Ronald Danielson Obituary

Mr. Ronald Danielson, age 74 years, of Murillo, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Ron was born on March 27, 1935 in Eagle River, Ontario. He later moved to Atikokan where he met his first wife, Anne, while working at the Steeprock Mine. They lived there for 16 years before moving to Thunder Bay. Ron loved the bush and machinery. He began his career with Great Lakes in 1965 running the Dog River Spur with Peter Plummer for many years until moving to the Town Hall (Monteith Trucking, Norway Timber). Ron retired at the age of 62. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Shuniah Lodge No. 287 G.R.C. Algoma District. He loved to fish at his camp and enjoyed his hobby farm. Ron is survived by his wife Lyne, children Michael, Chris (enroute) and Shirley; grandchildren Robbie and Erica; step-children Helmi Olson, Dale Wirta and Sabrina DelBen; step-grandchildren Lynnaya and Lucas; brother Art (Dryden) and sister Pearl (California). Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Predeceased by his first wife Anne (1991); parents Amelie (1983) and Siren (1953); and a sister Martha (1960). Funeral services for the late Mr. Ronald Danielson will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 1, 2008 at the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James with Pastor Anthony Fiorito officiating. Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon in the Chapel.
