Richard Allan Petrash, age 70 of Thunder Bay, died peacefully on April 10, 2012 at St Joseph's Hospice, with family by his side, after a lengthy illness. Richard was born and raised in Port Arthur. He retired from the CNR after many years of service as a carman. He was later employed as a security guard for Apex. He enjoyed coin collecting, watching car racing, fishing and being with family and friends. He cherished the companionship he shared with his special friend Siri Illikainen and her family. Richard was predeceased by his father George, his mother Helen Petrash and his brother Eddy Petrash. He is survived by sister Clara (Nick) Olinyk, brother Neil Petrash, 4 nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all. A Private family service at the grave site will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of choice.
