Maimie Ketonen Obituary

Maimie, age 87, resident of Signature Court on Toivo Street passed away peacefully in hospital on June 21st, 2012. Born on December 12th, 1924, she was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. She worked for many years in the family business, Midwest Auto with her husband Paul and brother-in-law Weikko Ketonen. Maimie and Paul travelled every winter to Florida and to many other parts of the world. They enjoyed spending the summers at their camp on Surprise Lake. Maimie suffered ill health in her later years. She enjoyed company and had a large circle of friends that visited her often. She is survived by her daughter Patricia, grandson Ryan, sister Laila Oinonen, nieces and nephews and other relatives. Maimie was predeceased by daughter Diane in infancy, husband Paul in 1992, mother Ida Kivela in 1999 and father Eric in 1929. She was also predeceased by brother-in-law Weikko Oinonen, brother-in-law Weikko Ketonen and sisters-in-law Selma and Miriam Ketonen. According to Maimie's wishes, cremation has taken place with final internment at Riverside Cemetery to follow at a later date. On-line condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com "
