Jennie Wilchynski Obituary

Jennie Wilchynski, age 97, passed away at Lakehead Manor after a brief illness on December 27, 2017.

Jennie was born on May 6, 1920 to Mary and Alex Homac. In 1939 she married Walter Wilchynski and they raised their family on the farm on Scott Highway.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Carol Hrycyszyn, Alice Trush (Ted), and Adele Winter (Gordon) as well as 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also missing her are several dear nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her parents, husband Walter in 1983, sisters and brothers-in-law Louise and Tony Kordek, Helen and Stan Andraychak, and her brother and sister-in-law Joe and Ena Homac. She was also predeceased by companion Peter Mazurski.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks for the excellent care at Lakehead Manor, especially from staff and nurses on the 4th floor.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Patrick's Cathedral celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Prayers will be offered January 2, 2018 at 7:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel.

Jennie Wilchynski will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 10, 2018.
