Leavitt, Sonya G - Beverly Hills  
Sonya G. Leavitt, 83, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away Feb. 24, 2015, in Inverness. She was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Bronx, New York, to Frank and Anne (Cooney) Solkoff. Sonya was a volunteer for the Citrus County Sherriff's Survalence unit and also enjoyed volunteering at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her loving husband, Leslie Leavitt; nieces, Francine Garson and husband Mitchell of Manalapau, New Jersey, Iris Kabert and husband Allan of Gilroy, California, Robin Marcel and husband John of Port Jefferson, New York, and Sherri Kazanchian and husband Harmik of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandnieces and grandnephews. Graveside Service at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fero Funeral Home. www.ferofuneralhome.com.

Large, Grace Lucille - Inverness  
Grace Lucille Large, 84, Inverness, died Feb. 20, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Sagamore, Pennsylvania, to the late John R. and Bertha (Aul) McCausland. She worked as a computer operator at Kmart in Inverness for over 10 years and as a display representative for a greeting card company, a job she enjoyed very much. Grace was an active member of her First United Methodist Church of Inverness and served in many ministries. She was a member of Eastern Star and served as past worthy grand matron in Claysville, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed gardening, baking and knitting. Left to cherish her memory are her sons David M. Large (Janet), Denver, Colorado, and Richard W. Large (Sherry), Inverness; daughters Diana Lee Clawson (Ed) Inverness, Patricia Ann Homan, Piedmont, South Carolina, and Deborah Sue Lynch, Piedmont, South Carolina; sisters Dorothy Shotts, Dayton, Pennsylvania, and Shirley Shemo, Indiana, Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Large; brothers Donald, Clair and Clark McCausland; and sister Florence Cooper. A funeral service of remembrance will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family invites friends to join them in visitation from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will take place at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness. Laughrey, Stephen William - Hernando  
Stephen William Laughrey left to be cradled in his Saviour's arms Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Born Jan. 5, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Albert and Ethel (Brock) Laughrey, Stephen served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Communications Specialist stationed in Germany. Following his service, Stephen returned to Indiana and embarked on a long, successful career selling building materials. He was forced into early retirement in 1990 when medical conditions rendered him blind. Determined to lead a normal life, Stephen attended the Louisiana School for the Blind in Ruskin, Louisiana. He later served on the Board of the National Federation of the Blind, dedicated to the advancement of those with vision impairments. He was a sports enthusiast. Prior to the loss of his sight Stephen enjoyed boating, water sports and golfing. In recent years he was an avid watch collector. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Inverness. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Doris Tabler-Laughrey of Hernando; son, Trent Staggs-Laughrey (Melissa), Prattville, Alabama; daughter, Heather Jo Laughrey (Scott), Bensalem, Pennsylvania; stepsons, Stacy Rigney and Todd Laughrey, both of Olathe, Kansas; brother, James A. (Nancy) Laughrey of Inverness; sister, Kathleen (Michael) Gilbert of Inverness; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and extended family. A tribute and celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2015 at Charles E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Military Honors and burial will take place immediately following at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Stephen's memory to either the American Diabetes Association, Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 North Lake Destiny Road, #1415, Maitland, FL 32751 or Southeastern Guide Dogs Association, 4210 77th St. East, Palmetto, FL 34221.
