Pharis, Robert J "Bob" - Homosassa  
Robert J. (Bob) Pharis, 91, died May 19, 2015, at Superior Residences of Lecanto, where he had resided for the past two years. He was born July 27, 1923, in Waterloo, Iowa. Bob was raised in Minneapolis and married Lydia (Blaha) July 24, 1943. Lydia preceded him in death in February of 2012. Also recently preceding him in death May 5, 2015, was his son, James Robert Pharis, in Tennessee. Bob served in the U.S. Navy for two years during WWII as a Seabee stationed on Attu in the Aleutian Islands. After the war, he attended GM Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan, and began his long association with General Motors. Initially, Bob worked as a Buick Service Manager in Anderson, Indiana for five years. In 1953 he was assigned Zone Service Manager with United Motors Service in Indianapolis. In 1957 He moved to the Central Office in the GM Building in Detroit, continuing with several assignments in the Service Section, before joining the Service Research Staff at the GM Tech Center, retiring in 1980. In the Fall of 1980, he and Lydia moved to Sugarmill Woods, where they had vacationed since the mid 70's. They were near to becoming charter members of the SMW Club, and also St. Thomas Catholic Church. Bob began a second career in Real Estate Sales, and became active in the local Kiwanis club, serving as President and Lieutenant Governor. He also served as President of the GM Retirees Club of Citrus County. He is survived by two children, Dan Pharis (Tammy) of Detroit, Michigan and Diane Singer (Paul) of Port Washington, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Grandjean of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Friends will be received from 1 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a chapel service will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. Ronald Marecki officiating. Entombment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Shutkulis, John P - Inverness  
John P. Shutkulis, 85, of Inverness, Florida, died May 18, 2015, at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. John was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Glen Cove, New York, son of Dominic and Emily Shutkulis. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, 5th Division during the Korean Conflict. John was a contractor. He was a jack-of-all-trades including a landscape artist and gardener. Mr. Shutkulis was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sister, Ellen Shutkulis of Inverness and his friend and caretaker, Carol Kolberg of Lecanto. Those wishing to attend graveside services for Mr. Shutkulis at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, may assemble at Heinz Funeral Home at 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Military Honors will be provided by the Inverness VFW Post 4337. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness.

Small, Christine Mary - Beverly Hills  
Christine Mary Small, 73, Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away May 19, 2015, under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. She was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Glen Cove, New York, to the late Michael J. and Mary (Klosowsky) Pascucci. Christine was a social worker, and arrived in this area in 1998, coming from Port Jefferson, New York. She attended Beverly Hills Community Church and enjoyed raising butterflies, gardening, bird watching and attended the Butterfly Club. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Charles H. Small Jr. Other survivors include her children, Thomas F. Ringrose Jr. of Huntington Station, New York, Michael J. (Theresa) Ringrose of Clifton Park, New York, Robert R. Ringrose of Schroon Lake, New York, Lee F. (Sharon) Small of St. Louis, Missouri, and Terri Frances (Tom) Willis of Fredericksburg, Maryland; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Pascucci of Hicksville, New York. A Memorial Service of Remembrance is scheduled for 1 P.m., Friday, May 22, 2015, at Beverly Hills Community Church, 82 Civic Circle, Beverly Hill, FL. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness is assisting the family with arrangements.
